    Sports Day

SPSM descended upon Haggerston Park today to take part in our annual Sports Day.  There were so many activities and sports challenges to take part in and all year groups participated.  A wonderful time was had by all but there was still a competitive side to things.  Sports Day was the highlight of our Sports Week, which was brilliantly organised by Miss Komur.  There were many more activities going on throughout the week including fencing, croquet, a water fight and a bouncy castle!

Which house won the most points?  The results can now be revealed:

    4th Place - Green Team

    3rd Place - Red Team

    2nd Place - Blue Team

    1st Place - Yellow Team

  • Art Exhibition 2025

Mon 07 Jul 2025 Emma Murray

    Art Exhibition

Over the year, children at SPSM are inspired to create artwork based on some of our best loved and well known artists and creative inspirations.  At the same time, children learn about the lives of these artists and reflect on art that they have studied and how this links to our school values and children's own spiritual and moral development.  Towards the end of the Summer term, the children's hard work is displayed and shared as part of our annual Art Exhibition.  We were delighted to be able to open up our exhibition for all the families within our school.  If you couldn't make it, you can see the wealth of talent that was on display in our photo gallery below.  A big thank you to Miss Foster for inspiring our artistic talents and for putting together an exhibition not only to be proud of but that shows the artists of the future!

    School Open Day

This weekend, SPSM opened its doors to welcome new families to look around our wonderful school.  The open day was a fantastic way to show off our school (many people in Hackney don't always know we are tucked away here!) and all we have to offer.  We were able to welcome some new faces to our SPSM community and had some fun along the way.  The photos showcase what a great day it was.

    Talent Show, 2025 - SPSM's Got Talent!

Our annual talent show proved that SPSM really does have talent (watch out Simon Cowell!).  We had singing, dancing, magic tricks, gymnastics and instrumental performances to rival the famous superstars of today.  Our photos showcase that talent, why not take a look?  Each act was a real winner in our eyes, well done to all those who took part and inspired children to join in next year!  Who were the winners?

    Road Watch

On Friday, our Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSOs) continued their work in helping keep SPSM and our community safe.  The JRSOs worked with the road safety team and the police to keep an eye on how fast the cars travel around our school and homes.  Armed with speed cameras, the JRSOs went to Queensbridge Road to see how many drivers stuck to the 20mph speed limit for Hackney.  There were so many considerate drivers out there and the JRSOs hope that their presence would help some drivers who were going too fast to rethink their speed.

  • Father Figures Celebration Day

    Father Figure Day Celebrations

Today we said 'thank you' to all the important male role models that we have in our lives.  Dads, brothers, uncles, grandfathers, stepdads, cousins and family friends were invited to a special day so we could celebrate all the men who support, help and educate, provide for and have fun with us.  We hope you had a wonderful time and enjoyed the fun, games and special treats, thank you!

    Considerate Cycling - JRSO Event

Today the JRSOs joined forces with Hackney's head of road safety and the Metropolitan Police to remind cyclists on Broadway Market about being safe and considerate whilst on the roads.  The JRSOs jobs were to oversee 'Dr Bike', a cycle roadworthy scheme, ask key questions through questionnaires and give out stickers for those cyclists who are thoughtful to pedestrians and other road users.  Well done, JRSOs, you conveyed a very important message!

    Kayaking - Year 6

Today saw the first of many trips for Year 6 and their teachers to Laburnum Boat Club.  The children were there to learn all about water safety and have their first taste of kayaking!  Judging by the big smiles, we think everyone enjoyed the day.  Check back each week as we will be adding more photographs.  Thank you.

  • Aspirations Week

Tue 20 May 2025 Emma Murray

    Aspirations Week

This week is Aspirations Week.  Children at SPSM will be thinking about their future goals and what they need to do to achieve these.  It is also a time when the adults in SPSM's children's lives think about how we can support our children to reach for the stars and achieve greatness.  Alongside special visitors to school, children took part in workshops and went on outside visits to businesses and other local companies.  One such visit was undertaken by Year 6.  They went to Derwent Buildings in Whitechapel and met five different companies!  These well known companies and brands included PLP Architects, OFX Finance, Reddie and Grose Law, Comic Relief and Breast Cancer Awareness.  We have added some photographs of the visit.  There will be more photographs added over the week, check back and take a look.
