It is that time of year again when we say 'goodbye' to Year 6 and send them off on the next part of their education journey - Secondary School!  Their time at SPSM and all of their successes were recognised in a special Church service today.  We celebrated Year 6 through songs, hymns, Bible readings and a reflection on our school values.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Year 6.  Good luck and God Bless you all.

    Prom - 2026

Prom was a little later this year however, we still made sure we said a special saying goodbye to Year 6 as they move on to a new and exciting part of their education journey.  What better way to do this than our school (Y6) Prom.  We are always sorry to see our wonderful Year 6 children leave us but we make sure that we celebrate their achievements and our headteacher, Mrs Lot, once again pulled out all the stops at the Prom celebration.  As promised, it was an evening of fun and celebration as our Year 6 children prepared to make the leap from Primary to Secondary School.  Everyone was suited and booted and danced the evening away.  They even enjoyed a meal especially prepared by the school Senior Leadership team!  Year 6, we will miss you but we wish you all the luck in the world!

    Talent Show, 2026 - SPSM's Got Talent!

Our annual talent show proved that SPSM really does have a whole heap of amazing talent!.  We were treated to singing, dancing, jokes and instrumental performances - watch out talented celebrities!  Our photos showcase that talent, why not take a look?  Our children are all winners in our eyes, well done to all those who took part and inspired children to join in next year and follow their aspirations.  A huge thank you to Miss Foster for organising the event and talking children through auditions and rehearsals before their big moment.  Thank you also to the Parent Association who provided refreshments on the day.  It was a tough job for the judges and they spent a long time deliberating so, who were the winners?  The winning categories were KS1 and KS2:

  • Art Exhibition

Mon 29 Jun 2026 Emma Murray

    Art Exhibition

Over the year, children at SPSM are inspired to create artwork based on some of our best loved and well known artists and creative inspirations.  At the same time, children learn about the lives of these artists and reflect on art that they have studied and how this links to our school values and children's own spiritual and moral development - The Arts are a wonderful platform to embrace our school vision of supporting one another to achieve our best, aspiring to promising futures.  Work from each class is displayed in our annual Art Exhibition - a show of appreciation and celebration of the artistic talent across our school.  We were delighted to be able to open up our exhibition for all the families within our school.  If you couldn't visit the exhibition in person, you can see the wealth of talent that was on display in our photo gallery below.  A big thank you to Miss Foster for nurturing and inspiring our artistic talents and for putting together an exhibition not only to be proud of but that shows the artists of the future!

  • Refugee Week

    Refugee Week

This week saw SPSM taking part in Refugee Week.  Our theme was 'Courage and Simple Acts' and we thought about the experience of Refugees through poetry, stories, books and interviews.  Classes were inspired to write their own poetry thinking about how courageous Refugees must have to be to leave all that they know behind to seek a life that is safe and away from danger.  Our main question for ourselves was, 'What simple acts can we undertake to welcome Refugees?'  This gave us time to think and reflect on our own lives and how fortunate we are.  We ended the week with a bake sale, all our fundraising will go to good causes linked to our week.

  • PLP Architecture Visit

Fri 19 Jun 2026 Emma Murray

    Whitechapel Architect Visit

This week, Years 5 & 6 visited PLP Architecture in the Whitechapel building to learn about different career paths.  They even got a chance to interview some of the workers there about their jobs and what inspiration led them to their chosen career.  The team at Whitechapel focused on how their companies are sustainable and all that they do to be eco-friendly - a great link with SPSM's work on eco-schools!  A wonderful day was had by all and thank you to the team at Whitechapel for being so accommodating.

  • Year 6 Go Kayaking!

Tue 02 Jun 2026 Emma Murray

    Kayaking - Year 6

The SATs are over and this event was one that Year 6 were looking forward to all year!  Today saw the first of many trips for Year 6 and their teachers to Laburnum Boat Club.  The children were there to learn all about water safety and have their first taste of kayaking!  Even though the weather didn't get off to a great start, judging by the big smiles, we think everyone enjoyed the day and learnt some fantastic new skills.  Check back each week as we will be adding more photographs.  Thank you.

  • Cooking Week

Fri 22 May 2026 Emma Murray

    Cooking Week

This week, SPSM thought about all things food!  We used our work and connections with The Hackney School of Food to have a wonderful week dedicated to ingredients, recipes and especially... tasting food!  Each class was given a recipe and a chance to promote their wares (through advertising posters and jingles) before working collaboratively to cook their designated recipe (there was also a Maths element - looking at measuring and costs).  The week culminated in a sale of SPSM's delicious produce.  Thank you to all parents and carers who came to support our food sale.  We hope you enjoyed your food and you never know, perhaps your children are now inspired to help you in the kitchen at  home!

    Sports Inspired Winners!

On Wednesday 20th May 2026, Years 3 & 4 attended a special sports event at Britannia Leisure centre.  They were lucky enough to take part in the Sports Inspired games and worked alongside many different Hackney schools to experience six different sports and earn points for skills and good sportsmanship.  We are so proud of our children who each brought home a medal and who consistently worked as a collective to also bring back the winners trophy!  Congratulations to you all.
