    Black History Month Celebrations

SPSM marked Black History Month with an afternoon of celebrations today.  Through the month of October, we have been learning about and recognising the history, contributions and achievements of Black people in our own country and worldwide.  Our afternoon marked this history and these achievements through music, food and dance.  Children made items relating to African and Caribbean history, heritage, arts and culture and sold these at our event.  A great time was had by all!

    Harvest Service at Church

SPSM would like to thank all the parents, carers and families who donated goods to our Harvest appeal.  All of your generous gifts will be shared within the community - going to families in need.  There were so many donations and this showed that we really live out our school values of compassion and thankfulness.  Our Harvest service helped us to remember how fortunate and blessed we all are, even when things seem difficult.  Years 1 & 2 gave a wonderful drama performance relating to Harvest by performing a rendition of the song 'It's Harvest Time' which helped reinforce the message of working together, sharing our good fortune and helping others in our own community and around the world.  We were also lucky enough to have prayers and readings delivered by our children in Years 4 and 5.

  • Goodbye Rev. Daniel

    Goodbye and Good Luck

Rev. Daniel Gerrans has made the decision to retire and although we will miss him and the blessings he brought to SPSM, we wanted to say thank you and wish him luck in the next phase of his journey.  Rev. Daniel has spread God's love and joy throughout our school and welcomed SPSM into Church for over 15 years.  Our special assembly today celebrated many of those times and gave us a chance to say thank you through songs, prayers, paintings, cards and by sharing our memories of Daniel.  We even learnt some exciting things about Daniel, he is a songwriter, a historian and an eco-warrior who loves to spend time with his Grandchild and mint-choc-chip ice cream!  Thank you Rev. Daniel and we hope your future is filled with happiness and God's guidance.

    Bikers' Breakfast

There was a huge turn out for our first Bikers' Breakfast today.  This was a great opportunity to encourage cycling whilst getting bike safety checks done by a fully qualified mechanic AND having a healthy breakfast snack.  Thank you to all that came, we are already looking forward to hosting our next session!

    World Afro Day

World Afro Day (WAD) was celebrated today (Monday 15th September 2025) and at SPSM we had a very special assembly which reinforced how WAD is a time to acknowledge and celebrate Afro hair and identity, alongside the history of Afro hair and traditions.  We aslo took time today to embrace, share and show off our wonderful styles which indicate the marvellous richness of inclusion and diversity here at SPSM.

    International Day

The school community joined together once again to celebrate SPSM's rich and varied cultural heritage.  This year's International day was another fantastic success.  With performances (staff, parents and children took part) from Britain, Turkey, The Caribbean and Japan (to name but a few) and a vast array of wonderful foods from all around the World, we did what we set out to do, celebrate!  Thank you to all the parents / carers for your generosity in sharing all these wonderful dishes and to the children for all their hard work in entertaining us.  If you couldn't make it to the day itself, you can relive the events through our photo gallery below.

  • The Prom - Year 6

Mon 14 Jul 2025 Emma Murray

As Head Teacher, Mrs Lot always makes sure she gives her school and her children her very best and, although saying goodbye to Year 6 is on the horizon and we are sorry to see them go, Mrs Lot once again pulled out all the stops at the annual Year 6 Prom.  As promised, it was an evening of fun and celebration as our Year 6 children prepared to make the leap from Primary to Secondary School.  Everyone was suited and booted and danced the evening away.  Year 6, we will miss you but we wish you all the luck in the world!
