National Child Measurement Programme (Reception & Year 6)
National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP)
As part of the NCMP children in Reception and Year 6 have their height and weight checked at school by an NHS clinical team. This will take place later on in the Autumn Term. Reception children will also have hearing and vision checks in the Spring Term. Parents / Carers have the right to opt out of these screenings however, to do this, you must read and follow the instructions in the 'Parent Portal and Opt-out Letter' (deadline 2nd October 2026) which you will find in the link below. NCMP is independent of the school and they stress that if parents / carers do not opt out by the deadline then health assessments will go ahead. All information on how to do this can be found in the links below.
