Christmas Service at Church
Fri 19 Dec 2025Christmas Service at Church
Thank you to everyone who took part in, hosted and came to support us in our Christmas Service at St Michael and All Angels Church today. This was a service to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and as we do each year, we observed this through readings, prayers and carols. A special mention must be made for Early Years who recreated the Christmas story through drama. Thank you for reminding us of how and why this time of year is so special. We wish you all a peaceful and Happy Christmas!

A Visit From Santa!
Thu 18 Dec 2025Santa Claus is Coming to Town!
Santa did come to town but he stopped off at SPSM before he went on his way around the rest of London. Dropping of his sleigh and trusty reindeers for a carrot, a drink of water and a rest, the man in red visited classes to share a 'Ho, Ho, Ho' and a 'Merry Christmas' to all. Helped by his (naughty or nice) elf, Santa gave out some presents before picking up his sack and flying off. Did you see him? If you were not lucky enough to catch a glimpse, SPSM managed to snap a few photos of the legend. Take a look. Happy Christmas!

The Giving Tree
Thu 18 Dec 2025The Giving Tree
Thank you to our wonderful community who donated Christmas gifts as part of our 'Giving Tree' appeal. SPSM staff have dropped off the presents that you donated to the Salvation Army and they will distribute to children who are in need. Your generosity means that a child who would previously not have a Christmas present has something to open and smile about on Christmas Day. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

Hurricane Melissa Fundraiser
Wed 17 Dec 2025Hurricane Melissa Fundraiser
We have been sending our thoughts and prayers to those people in Jamaica who have been affected by Hurricane Melissa. Over the past few weeks SPSM's community (parents, carers, staff and children) have been collecting essentials to help those who have lost so much. Today, we raised additional funds by having a non-uniform day and wearing the colours of Jamaica. We will let you know how much was raised, in the meantime, have a look at the photographs from the day.

Rock Steady
Thu 11 Dec 2025Rock Steady Performance
Our children have been busy learning new skills during their Rock Steady groups each Thursday. Today we were treated to a musical extravaganza which showed off vocals, drums, guitars and a real sense of rhythm! Each member of the audience was foot tapping and swaying along to the music, and had a really enjoyable end to the day, listening to some well-known and some more modern renditions. We hope you enjoy our photos of the day.

Christmas Jumper Day
Thu 11 Dec 2025Christmas Jumper Day
Not one school uniform could be spotted today as Thursday 11th December was a special day at SPSM, instead of our usual school uniforms, we had special permission to take off our red SPSM jumpers and we donned our festive attire. Christmas Jumper day was bright, colourful and brought Christmas cheer all around the school! All donations were welcomed and will be sent on to the 'Rights Respecting Schools' charity. Thank you for your generosity.

Black History Performance
Thu 11 Dec 2025Black History Performance
Over the last few months, our children in Years 4 & 6 have been learning about the history of African dance and drumming. They have also been working with Miss Harley to learn some African drumming compositions. These performances helped children to better understand some aspects of Black History as well as African Culture. If you didn't make it to watch the performance this afternoon, please take a look at the photos which show off all the hard work the children have put in over the weeks.

Online Safety Week
Wed 10 Dec 2025Online Safety Week
We take online safety very seriously here at SPSM and we are proud to be a National Online Safety School. This week we hosted online safety week where we reminded ourselves of how we stay safe online and how we help others to remain safe. Our theme was 'Smart Tech, Safe Choices' and we considered how there are sometimes risks online that might catch us out. SPSM welcomed the Konfulx Theatre Company who treated us to workshops and worked with Years 4 and 5 to plan, write and perform two 'plays in a day' around our online safety week topic. Both year groups really engaged with the plays and performed at the end of each day to the rest of the school. Being online is fun and exciting but we want to remind all online users that things can go wrong too. For more information and special guides to starting online safety conversations with your children take a look at our parent guides to online safety on the school website. In the meantime, enjoy the pictures of our actors!

Be Bright, Stay in Sight Day
Fri 05 Dec 2025Be Bright, Stay in Sight Day
The Junior Road Safety Officers have been busy promoting their road safety messages this week and ensuring they do the very important job of keeping us safe around the roads. In particular, they have been reminding us of the importance of being safe and being seen as the winter months approach and the days become darker earlier. With this in mind, the JRSOs made today 'Be Bright, Stay in Sight' day and we all came to school in our brightest clothes as a reminder to be bright and be seen when we are on or near the roads. The JRSOs also brought some competition to the day. They organised a special road safety treasure hunt and colouring competition and they were on the look out for the brightest class at SPSM. This was a tricky job to judge as SPSM shone so brightly today. The JRSOs will be making their decision shortly, so please come back to this page where the winners of the brightest class and the treasure hunt token champions will be announced soon (amazing prizes are to be won!).
