    Art Exhibition

Over the year, children at SPSM are inspired to create artwork based on some of our best loved and well known artists and creative inspirations.  At the same time, children learn about the lives of these artists and reflect on art that they have studied and how this links to our school values and children's own spiritual and moral development - The Arts are a wonderful platform to embrace our school vision of supporting one another to achieve our best, aspiring to promising futures.  Work from each class is displayed in our annual Art Exhibition - a show of appreciation and celebration of the artistic talent across our school.  We were delighted to be able to open up our exhibition for all the families within our school.  If you couldn't visit the exhibition in person, you can see the wealth of talent that was on display in our photo gallery below.  A big thank you to Miss Foster for nurturing and inspiring our artistic talents and for putting together an exhibition not only to be proud of but that shows the artists of the future!

  • Refugee Week

    Refugee Week

This week saw SPSM taking part in Refugee Week.  Our theme was 'Courage and Simple Acts' and we thought about the experience of Refugees through poetry, stories, books and interviews.  Classes were inspired to write their own poetry thinking about how courageous Refugees must have to be to leave all that they know behind to seek a life that is safe and away from danger.  Our main question for ourselves was, 'What simple acts can we undertake to welcome Refugees?'  This gave us time to think and reflect on our own lives and how fortunate we are.  We ended the week with a bake sale, all our fundraising will go to good causes linked to our week.

    Whitechapel Architect Visit

This week, Years 5 & 6 visited PLP Architecture in the Whitechapel building to learn about different career paths.  They even got a chance to interview some of the workers there about their jobs and what inspiration led them to their chosen career.  The team at Whitechapel focused on how their companies are sustainable and all that they do to be eco-friendly - a great link with SPSM's work on eco-schools!  A wonderful day was had by all and thank you to the team at Whitechapel for being so accommodating.

  • Year 6 Go Kayaking!

    Kayaking - Year 6

The SATs are over and this event was one that Year 6 were looking forward to all year!  Today saw the first of many trips for Year 6 and their teachers to Laburnum Boat Club.  The children were there to learn all about water safety and have their first taste of kayaking!  Even though the weather didn't get off to a great start, judging by the big smiles, we think everyone enjoyed the day and learnt some fantastic new skills.  Check back each week as we will be adding more photographs.  Thank you.
