STEM Week - 'Make £5 Grow'

The competition was fierce across the school over the past few weeks.  Who would design and create the most popular and best selling product within budget?  Who would make the biggest impact and make the most money?  The challenge came to a head after school on Friday 30th June when each class set out their wares and began selling.  Here is what the different classes amazed us with:

• Nursery - Bubbles and Play Doh
• Reception - Fishing hook game
• Year 1 - Handmade windmills
• Year 2 - Sports and fitness challenges
• Year 3 - Kites and BeeBot maps
• Year 4 - Chocolate coins and boat games
• Year 5 - Circuit challenge
• Year 6 - Krazy Kaleidoscopes

Thanks to the generosity of all those who attended the sale, we were able to put charity donations towards a water pump for a country that does not have ready access to water or clean water.  For more information on this scheme click on the link below :

SPSM's Got Talent!

Our annual talent show proved that SPSM really does have talent.  We had singing, dancing, magic tricks, gymnastics and instrumental performances to rival the famous superstars of today.  Our photos showcase that talent, why not take a look?  Who were the winners?

Aspirations Week 2023

Our STEM week gave children (and staff) time to reflect on their aspirations for the future.  What do they want to achieve in life?  How will they get there?  Who inspired their ultimate goals?  All these questions were answered on Wednesday 28th June when children came to school dressed up as their future chosen careers.  As you can see by the photographs, aspirations are high.  We know you will all achieve your dreams!

International Day

The school community joined together once again to celebrate SPSM's rich and varied cultural heritage.  This year's International day was another fantastic success.  With performances (staff, parents and children took part) from Britain, Turkey, The Caribbean and Japan (to name but a few) and a vast array of wonderful foods from all around the World, we did what we set out to do, celebrate!  Years 5 and 6 paid a special tribute in poetry, music and dance to mark the 75th anniversary of  Windrush.  Thank you to all the parents / carers for your generosity in sharing all these wonderful dishes and to the children for all their hard work in entertaining us.  If you couldn't make it to the day itself, you can relive the events through our photo gallery below.

Year 6 go Kayaking!

Wednesday 7th June saw the beginning of a fantastic adventure for Year 6.  They began Kayaking lessons at Hackney's Laburnum Boat Club.  SPSM has long held a good relationship with the Boat Club who have been teaching our children important life skills for many years.  Keep checking back each week to see Year 6's Kayaking journey in photographs.
