Homework - Weekly Updates, Ideas and Resources
Week Beginning: 19.10.20
Please select the appropriate year group for your child and see what work will be covered in class learning time each week. You will then be able to support your child with the consolidation of this learning at home. Work can be emailed to either the Key Stage 1 or 2 email address. These can be found below:
Please use the link on the Nursery Class page to access the sounds and numbers that we work on each week in Nursery. You will be able to find the sounds and numbers for each term of the school year.

Literacy - We will continue to write sentences using full stops and capital letters. We will also include describing words in our writing.
Maths - We are adding two numbers together and counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.
Literacy - This week we will begin to write poetry (after the completion of our end of term reading comprehension and writing assessment
Maths - We are learning to subtract and regroup using the column method (after we have finished our number and place value and addition assessments)

Literacy - we will be using fronted adverbials in our writing
Maths - this week we will be checking strategies and using inverse operations for addition and subtraction
Literacy - we will be writing short narratives and poetry based around Black History Month

Children should logon to Mathletics daily
Reading should take place at home each day - Children are expected to write a book review of a novel that they have read this term
The topics for homework this term are Northern Ireland and grouping animals (types, vertebrates and invertebrates). Children can present this work as a PowerPoint Presentation, a poster or a piece of written work. The details of how to send all homework will be below
Spellings (from the week beginning 19/10/20 the spellings will be 'week 6', these can be found on the spelling lists on the school website). Children need to learn these spellings and write them in a sentence using compound, complex, simple, relative clauses, parenthesis and fronted adverbials
Times tables - children should be learning their times tables and corresponding division facts in preparation for a test each Friday
