Health Update - Scarlet Fever Streptococcus
Dear Parents and Carers,
Please see the information sheet from Hackney Education Health, regarding Scarlet Fever and Strep A.
Please note the symptoms section and follow through with the actions recommended if necessary. Please ensure you inform the school if your child has a confirmed case.
As you can see from the health information, it is in very rare cases that the symptoms lead to hospitalisation so please remain calm. It is very unhelpful when parents begin to spread rumours about fictitious infections as this causes unnecessary stress and panic for children and parents alike. If you are concerned, please do the right thing and speak with a member of the Senior Leadership Team instead.
We have been reinforcing the message of hand washing and ‘catch it, bin it, kill it’. Please support us by doing this at home also. Lets work together to keep our children as healthy as we can.
Thank you,
Mrs Lot- Head Teacher
