We Need to Save our Oceans Audio Work
These lyrics were written by the key worker year 2,3,4 bubble during lockdown. The lyrics were inspired by learning about our oceans and the need to protect them a part of a Greenpeace project. Members from The London Sea Shanty Collective were so impressed with the new lyrics, that they have sung them and recorded them to the tune of the sea shanty 'South Australia.' And the winners are...
These are the winners of the art competition judged by Chris Till, Oceans Campaign officer for Greenpeace.
First Place - Ediz
Chris Till from Greenpeace says 'Great colour and texture - it really feels like an underwater scene. It will inspire everyone to protect the oceans.'
Runner up- Bella
Chris says 'This painting transports me to a tropical island - it's beautiful'
First place - Lucille
Chris says 'This looks just like a beautiful ocean scene, but then the clever details reveal all the problems happening there right now. It reminds me of the beauty of oceans, and also the need to protect them.'
Runner up - Bayanne
Chris says 'The bright colours make me believe I'm diving on a perfect coral reef, and I love the silhouette of the turtle swimming overhead, blocking out the sun.'
And... a special mention for Ruby. Chris gave Ruby this message:
'This would be a great campaign poster for Greenpeace. There's a good clear message, and it really makes you care about the turtle.'
