Come to our Good Work Assemblies in the Hall

Every Friday: 3:00 (Juniors) 10:10 (Infants)

Hello my name is Michelle Smith and I am a parent/governor of a year 6 pupil at the school and a member of the ‘Friends’ Association. As soon as I walked around the school for the first time I felt relaxed that my child will be safe and secure whilst learning. As we are a one form entry school the children know each other very well and it feels like a little family. The school is situated behind the popular Broadway Market and it is like discovering a little oasis for children.

We have many after school activities, clubs and sports. The ‘Friends’ Association plays an active role in arranging many events over the school year like the Christmas Grotto, the School Disco and the Summer Fete. There is so much going on that you cannot help but get involved and feel part of something special.

I’m really enjoying the experience of being a parent governor and I feel involved in the school’s development. We have introduced a coffee morning that I host once a half-term. This is a great opportunity for parents to get together, share any concerns and exchange new ideas. Why not come along to the next one and see how much fun they are!

Maths Week

Maths week was a great success again this year, thanks to all the teachers, staff and parents who were involved.  We kicked off the week with the ’World of Maths’ workshop, an interactive session involving hands-on problem solving.  The children loved it and were engaged from Reception right up to Year 6.  Our focus this year was Money and the children embraced the topic, as it is something very familiar to them.  Everything from our own currency to foreign currency, salaries, wages, expenses and much more were covered.

A special thank you to all of you who made it to the Maths Quiz on Thursday 14th January.  We raised £40 for the ‘Friends’ and had a lot of fun challenging children and adults together.  There are some real maths genius’s out there!  A huge thank you for all the support from teachers and the ‘Friends’ who attended.  I hope you are all enjoying the fabulous prizes donated by our local community, again a massive thanks to all of them.

Look out for maths events and other future quizzes.  Cairo Spencer Assistant Head
